In honor of our 10th Anniversary, SisterSong is launching a $1.1 million Expansion and Capital Campaign!
As part of our tenth anniversary expansion of our programs and services, SisterSong purchased an office building, and we have found our home in the Mother House. The Mother House was the original home of the National Black Women’s Health Project, founded in 1983.
Now, thanks to the generosity of the Bert and Mary Meyer Foundation, the Mother House is again home to the national women of color feminist movement. We are seeking your support to fund the purchase of the Mother House and our expanded programming.
SisterSong needs you to make a gift toward our $1.1 million “Supporting Our Community of Sisters” Expansion and Capital Campaign.
In addition to housing SisterSong’s National Office and a large community meeting space, the Mother House includes facilities and offices for SisterLove, Inc., a local Atlanta agency that provides services for African American women with HIV/AIDS. SisterLove is one of the original 16 founding members of SisterSong, and brings a reputation of almost 20 years of service delivery for women of color in Georgia.
But the Mother House is more than just a victory for SisterSong and SisterLove. Obtaining the Mother House is a defining moment in the history of reproductive justice. It gives all women of color working for Reproductive Justice, both locally and nationally, a new place to call home.
Please consider making a gift of $250 or more. While gifts of any amount are appreciated, a gift of $250 or more will gain the donor entrance into the Leadership Circle of SisterSong.Circle Members contribute $10,000, $5,000, $1,000, $500 or $250, and help to ensure that SisterSong will always have a place to call home, and strong foundation from which to build this movement for Reproductive Justice. Individuals, corporations or foundations who donate to SisterSong between September 1, 2007, and December 31, 2008, become Charter members of the Leadership Circle.
