Are you passionate about reproductive justice and equitable maternal health care? We are seeking a dedicated Birth Justice Care Fund Intern to support our mission of advancing birth justice and ensuring access to quality maternal care for all.
Position Summary: The Birth Justice Care Fund Intern plays a pivotal role in supporting the Birth Justice Team in the strategic management and administration of the care fund. This position involves daily administrative duties, coordination with community partners, and assisting in the evaluation and distribution of resources to advance birth justice initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for birth justice, strong organizational and communication skills, and a commitment to fostering equitable healthcare access.
Duties: Provide daily administrative support for the Birth Justice Care Fund, including data entry, record-keeping, and communication management.
Maintain accurate and organized documentation of care fund activities.
Collaborate with community organizations, healthcare providers, and advocacy groups to gather information on potential care fund recipients.
Serve as a point of contact for inquiries related to the care fund and assist applicants through the application process.
Compile relevant information for the Birth Justice Director’s review as needed.
Contribute to the development of communication materials related to the care fund.
Assist in the collection and analysis of data related to care fund activities.
Generate reports and summaries for internal teams and cross-functional departments to gather/share relevant data, analyze trends, and ensure accurate reporting relating to the Birth Justice Care Fund.
Support the planning and execution of events, workshops, or meetings related to birth justice initiatives.
Coordinate logistics and ensure the smooth operation of Birth Justice Care Fund events i.e., care fund purchases, hotels bookings, flights, etc,)
Minimum Qualifications: Previous experience in administrative support, community outreach, or a related role.
Knowledge of birth justice issues, maternal health disparities, and healthcare access.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data management tools.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.

Are you passionate about reproductive justice, storytelling, and amplifying the voices of communities of color? SisterSong is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Communications & Special Events Intern to support our mission of advancing reproductive justice through powerful narrative shift, strategic digital engagement, and intentional convening.
Position Summary:
The Communications & Special Events Intern plays a key role in supporting SisterSong’s Communications Team in uplifting our programs, campaigns, and events through impactful storytelling and thoughtful coordination. This position involves day-to-day administrative support, digital content creation, internal and external communications, and behind-the-scenes logistics for in-person and virtual events. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for reproductive justice, strong writing and organizational skills, and a deep commitment to shifting culture and narrative in service of liberation.
Duties:
Assist in the development and scheduling of social media content, e-blasts, and newsletters.
Support the creation and editing of graphics, videos, and other multimedia materials aligned with SisterSong’s voice and values.
Provide administrative support to the Communications Manager and team, (filling in when needed), including meeting scheduling, note-taking, and document organization.
Help track press mentions, media inquiries, and email engagement metrics.
Contribute to writing and editing content for digital campaigns, blogs, and storytelling initiatives.
Support event planning, including convenings, panels, and special gatherings by helping manage logistics (e.g., venue coordination, vendor outreach, travel and lodging for speakers).
Assist with event promotion across digital platforms and collaborate on the creation of event materials (programs, signage, swag, etc.).
Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to ensure messaging alignment and effective communications across all channels.
Minimum Qualifications:
Previous experience in communications, social media, event coordination, or a related field.
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Proficiency in Canva, Google Workspace, and social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn).
Familiarity with Mailchimp, Squarespace, or other digital tools is a plus.
Deep understanding of and commitment to reproductive justice, racial justice, and gender liberation.
Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced, values-driven environment.

Compensation & Hours:
This internship pays $20/hour for up to 20 hours per week, totaling $1600/month. The position is part-time and designed to provide meaningful experience in nonprofit communications, events, and justice-centered storytelling
