RJ 101
RJ 101 is the foundational RJ training program for activists and organizations who want to apply the Reproductive Justice(RJ) framework in their work and campaigns. The full RJ 101 is an 8-hour, multi-day workshop conducted with groups either virtually or in person. The training covers the history of the RJ movement and core concepts of RJ including: the human rights framework and the reproductive justice framework; intersectionality as an organizing tool; understanding and building alternatives to white dominant culture in the workplace; and healing justice. The workshop is taught using a combination of lectures, videos, readings, group assignments, and discussion groups.
RJ 102
RJ 102 is a series of 2-hour training modules that are deeper dives into the RJ framework. They include Queering RJ; Birth Justice and Childcare as RJ; Environmental Justice and RJ; RJ in an International Context; Reproductive Futurism and Healing Justice; Mutual Aid and Relational Organizing. RJ 101 is a prerequisite to RJ 102. Please reach out if you would like to address more specific topics in RJ 102. We are happy to create trainings that suit the needs of the organization.
We also do shorter 1 or 2-hour presentations on RJ. These are great introductions for newcomers, or refreshers for those doing RJ-related or adjacent work. They can be done virtually or in-person.
Lori Rodriguez (she/they) is a queer Central American educator, researcher, writer, artist and mechanic with a background and longstanding interest in grassroots organizing, culture shift, and alternative approaches to education. They’ve worked in electoral organizing at the local and state level, in media relations and abortion clinic support at the national level, are involved in mutual aid projects in NYC, occasionally show photography and perform written work, and maintain a variety of vehicular projects (her latest love is kei vans). Her writing, a mix of art/film/cultural criticism, poetry, and essays have been published in Bitch Media and other small presses. She has been invited to teach and deliver keynote addresses at the Yale School of Nursing, the Harvard Kennedy School, and has spoken on multiple panels. She records, edits, and occasionally provides commentary on SisterSong’s F*ckMarryKill Podcast.
Trainings are priced on a sliding scale basis.
