Youth Program
At SisterSong, we know that when young people lead, powerful change follows. Our Youth Program is grounded in the principles of Reproductive Justice and youth empowerment, creating spaces where young people, especially Black, Brown, Indigenous, LGBTQIA+, and other historically marginalized youth, can lead, heal, and organize. We believe that young people deserve the tools, education, and community support to make informed decisions about their bodies, their futures, and their lives. Through training, mentorship, organizing, and joyful community building, we’re creating a future where equity, autonomy, and justice are not just ideals but realities.
What We Do
Our programs are built for young people and those who support them. We create spaces that nurture leadership, education, and collective action, including:
Reproductive Justice Trainings for youth and youth-serving organizations
Workshops and Conference Presentations on health, justice, and advocacy
Continuing Education on sexual health, wellness, and identity
Community-Based Events that celebrate youth and culture
Coalition Building across movements, communities, and states
Policy Education & Advocacy to shift laws that impact young people’s lives
Why It Matters
Youth, as recognized as anyone under the age of 24, are in a unique phase of their life. They’re navigating body changes, exploring identity, pursuing education or careers, and some are parenting. Yet, due to harmful laws, policies, and systems, many youth lack access to accurate sexual health education, affirming environments, and patient-centered care. Without the support they need, their chances of facing long-term challenges increase. Our Youth Program serves as a protective barrier, educating youth on how white supremacy shapes these oppressive systems while equipping them with tools for leadership, advocacy, and community care. We believe youth are changemakers. It's time we follow their lead toward liberation.
